Data Integration
The purpose of this project is to fund the design for integrating data across State programs and departments. The design offers one strategy for addressing multiple data integration needs with a common, reusable infrastructure. CMS has provided funding for this 3-year project under the 2001 Real Choices Systems Change grant solicitation.
Reports & Products
The design and approach for building a virtual information service are described in these documents:
- IDA:
Creating a Virtual Information Service to Meet Maine’s
Need for Integrated Data provides a brief summary of Maine's need for
integrated data, the constraints on integrating data, a proposed solution,
and implementation considerations.
- The Requirements
Document describes the State's high level needs for
integrated data and the confidentiality and other constraints on integrating
data.
- The Design Document
describes a technical approach to meet the State's requirements.
- The Implementation
Strategy provides an overview of IDA, describes what
would be involved in operating IDA, gives an approach to building IDA
in phases, provides a ballpark on how much it would cost to build IDA,
etc.
- The Minimum Cost
Estimate provides a ballpark estimate for how much
it would cost to build the minimum infrastructure for implementing IDA.
- The Full Cost
Estimate provides a ballpark estimate for how much
it would cost to fully implement IDA for the needs identified in this
project.
- The Glossary
defines acronyms and key terms.
