Person-Centered Services 
Fiscal Employer Agent (FEA)
This project will create one or more Fiscal Employer Agents to provide a menu of administrative supports to consumers and surrogates who want to exercise a self-direction option but want or need assistance with related administrative tasks including, but not limited to, recruitment and referral of personal assistance workers, payroll and tax withholding, and workers’ compensation insurance. Maine plans to offer a self-direction option in MaineCare-funded programs for older people, people with physical disabilities and people with mental retardation or autism. CMS has provided funding for this 3-year project under the 2001 Real Choices Systems Change grant solicitation.
