Workforce Demonstration
The purpose of this project is to demonstrate and evaluate the impact
of two interventions on recruitment and retention of direct service workers
in Medicaid- and state-funded community programs. This project has two
objectives: (1) to increase health coverage among direct service community
workers and their families through enrollment in the Maine Dirigo Health
Program, and (2) to enhance the recruitment and retention of these workers
through the implementation of an Employer of Choice Model with their employers.
CMS has provided funding for this 3-year project under the 2003 Real Choices
Systems Change grant solicitation.
